  • Q: Can I apply to both engineering and medicine with same 12th marks?
    A: Yes! TNEA considers 12th marks. For medicine, you need NEET UG score.
  • Q: Is diploma better than +2 for engineering?
    A: Diploma: 3 years → lateral entry to 2nd year BE. +2: 2 years → 4-year BE. Choose based on interest.
  • Q: Can I get scholarship if parents' income is high?
    A: Most need-based scholarships have income limits (₹2.5-8 lakhs). Merit scholarships may not have income criteria.

Reservation & Quota

  • Q: Can I claim both community reservation and 7.5% government school quota?
    A: Yes, 7.5% is horizontal reservation across all communities.
  • Q: Do private colleges follow reservation?
    A: Government quota seats in private colleges follow state reservation. Management quota doesn't.
  • Q: What documents needed for community certificate?
    A: Apply on TN e-District with आधार, ration card, parents' certificates.

Admissions & Counselling

  • Q: How many rounds in TNEA counselling?
    A: Usually 3-4 rounds. Each has choice filling → allotment → joining.
  • Q: Can I change college after joining?
    A: Very difficult in government colleges. Some private colleges allow transfers with permission.
  • Q: What if I don't get any college in state counselling?
    A: Apply to private colleges via management quota or consider diploma/other degrees.

Career & Higher Studies

  • Q: Is arts/science degree useful for jobs?
    A: Yes! Combined with PG (MA/MSc/MBA/BEd) or professional courses (CA/CS), excellent career options.
  • Q: Can I do MBA after BSc?
    A: Yes! Any bachelor's degree qualifies for MBA entrance (CAT/MAT/CMAT).
  • Q: Foreign education after 12th?
    A: Possible with SAT/IELTS. Very expensive (₹20-50 lakhs). Scholarships available top students.
